The Northern Union is a union that spans the (moderately) chilly Agelta Ocean. It comprises of the 7 countries of Greater Agenbi, the 12 countries of the Esħ Pez, Ų"lenö and its successors Later Buš and East (2nd) Sŋéél, Cindrize and its satellite Rijeze Sîkajȝe and its satellites Bleknoŋ and Ȝenlziɖ, and finally the individual nations of To-elohba, Suʰbiⁿ /sʌbĩ/, On Yenyuʰ /on jenjʌ/, Ķeⁿbeʰ /qẽbɜ/, Sĭle, and the Kingdom of a Thousand Islands (Lun Bizunlinu Zehu). this brings the total to 33 countries.

Like most other unions membership in the Northern Union does not preclude membership in other unions. In particular, Ķeⁿbeʰ and Sĭle are all of NU members, Order of the Friends of the Jesdic Senlis members, and Yeigon Confederation members.

The capital of the Norther Union is Yaaŋben, Qoorbej, Agenbi. It manages most of the logistics of the seablown association and is the seat of courts regarding binding international laws – a little bit like Brussels & the EU but much more country-like.

The official language is Âagenzbèe, the old, unifying tongue spoken in Agenbi, Çendre and Rija. The continental countries tend to speak Bluʰbʲjaʰ-güjeʰ, which is also an official language. Gwo-elohba, the "traditional language" of Rija, is tolerated but gets a bad rep due to Rija's… unsettling religious rituals.

The Union is home to 57 million; 32M live in the Agenbi archipelago, 20M live in the mainland and the rest in the open ocean (the L^bz only has 80k inhabitants). It offers its citizens freedom of movement within these three divisions.
